The DMWG is a global working group of the RC/RC Movement, comprising around 35 international disaster managers from a range of Movement components, which acts as a forum for analysis and a launch pad for new initiatives.
This was my third time to facilitate the meeting, so either their expectations are really low or I am doing something right.
The focus of this meeting was still largely on Surge issues, but also looking forward to new challenges coming out of the Grand Bargain, amongst other things. It was held on a little island in Helsinki – highly recommended venue. And the sun shone.
The plan is for this to be my last DMWG, which is, on reflection, a bit of a shame as the next one will be held in Ottawa. I’ll probably be called back for a future meeting in Milton Keynes…
